Episode 31: Mike Ellergodt, aka, The Mortgage Money Whiz on multiple media platforms, is known for his direct Economic Insight and process of creating Financial Success through the Mortgage Maze. His passion for Finance started back in University, realizing halfway through his English degree he loved business and wanted to help people make money and get out of the "rate race". A quick shift in direction lead him to his double Major (Eng. Lit & Econ).
Upon graduation he began his career as a Financial Advisor completing his CFP designation and CSC course to facilitate Trading on the Financial Market. After a couple years he moved over to one of the Big 5 Banks were he worked as a Small Business Advisor and Commercial Banker for years which made him fall in love with the Lending side of Finances and all the opportunity it created people. Seeing a huge miss in advice around mortgages and proper guidance, he got his Mortgage Broker License over 8.5 years ago to help as many people as he possible could.
With two daughters running around the house, a dog, a cat, and his amazing partner Sarah Boechler...life is crazy and oh so wonderful!
Mike is excited to talk on all things Real Estate, Lending, Economics, and try to make those topics WAY more fun then they sound!

Episode 30: Andy is a co-founder of Ratefilter.ca, as well as a mortgage broker with MortgagePal. Andy along with his co-founder Alan are in the process of building a digital marketplace for Canadian mortgage rates. Having spent close to the last 10 years brokering in the competitive online mortgage space, Andy teamed up with Alan to create what they hope to be the Expedia of mortgage rates in Canada. Prior to mortgages, Andy traded his own personal account in the Crude oil futures market. Andy’s love of macro economics and chart patterns plays into the depth of Andy’s market analysis. Andy lives in Vancouver BC, with his wife Janelyn 14yr old weiner dog Deeno.

Episode 29: After many years in the corporate world as an IT consultant. Sai Lee made the stunning decision to pursue a full time career in the world of real estate investing.
He learned how to build wealth without using any of his own money, and that was a game changer.
Working with a mentor, he had finally learned the true ins and outs of buying real estate to generate quick cash, buying to hold and generate long term income.
In the end, it was the creative process of helping others to succeed in real estate that fascinated him. and today he is one of the most talented and knowledgeable creative real estate mentors in the country.
He believes in helping an individual purchase property at 80 cents on the dollar or better will help them change their economic life forever.

Episode 25: Today we learn how Taylor Atkinson just made $1,675,000 in 7 years with a multifamily project.
Today we do a deep dive on one of Taylor’s multifamily projects. He purchased in Creston BC for $1,575,000 and sold in 2023 for $3,250,000. If you want to dip your toe in multifamily investing or make a giant splash… you need to listen to this episode.
Special note * Revised episode due to strategy changed to refinanced instead of selling. The equity take out was $2,050,000. So a great capital take out than the original purchase price just 7 years earlier.

Episode 24: Today we will be talking to Jon Albrecht. Although not born in Kelowna, Jon has spent the majority of his life here and can't imagine living anywhere else. He is following the lead of his father, Terry Albrecht, who was a member of the Ungaro Albrecht Courtney & Associates team for two decades. Like his father, he loves to make genuine connections with everyone around him. Jon and his team have been fortunate enough to be in the top 1% of Royal LePage Agents in Canada for most of the last decade, however, his biggest accomplishment is finding someone who would marry him! They welcomed their son in June of 2021. Although his athletic prime is decades behind him and the term "prime" being a loose term, he enjoys playing team sports (so other's can carry him) whenever possible.

Episode 22: Today we're going to get to know Blake Harper. He has been a successful Mobile Mortgage Specialist with TD for the past 7 yrs and recently made the switch to become a Mortgage Broker. Blake grew up in the lower mainland and visited Kelowna regularly. And has now called Kelowna home for 21 yrs.
While snowmobiling in the Greystokes near Kelowna in March of 2002, an accident resulted in Blake suffering a broken back, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down.
From the very start he refused to let this life altering disability break his spirit or stop him from living his life to the absolute fullest. On September 17th 2002, just six months to the day of his injury, Blake swam across Okanagan Lake and has consistently "gone big" ever since.
Blake began power lifting for Canada, competing in Las Vegas at the WABDL, breaking the national bench press record for his weight class. He also competed in Australia at the Pan Pacific Paralympics where he placed 2nd overall. He then competed in Greece at the Worlds and was ranked in the top 25 of the world. Blake altered the PADI course by becoming the very first paraplegic in World to become a certified diving instructor. He has tackled wakeboarding, mountain biking (with a specialized hand cycle), skydiving, and sit skiing. He was one of the first few people to do a backflip on a sit ski. These are just a few of his "hobbies" to date. Blake’s vocabulary does not include the word “can’t.
Blake spends much of his time helping charities and giving back to the community. He was the first person to compete in "Swinging with the Stars" to win both Judges Choice and Audience Choice. His passion for helping people extends into his mortgage business by helping people buy their dream homes, reduce their debt load and giving them sound financial advice.
